Six things to note when taking a bath in winter for sugar lovers

When the weather is cold, people like to take a hot bath at night. However, sugar lovers should pay attention to the following points when taking a bath in cold weather:

1. The frequency of bathing should not be too many, generally 2 times a week is enough. Too many times can increase the chance of fatigue and cold.

2. Bathing time should not be long, no more than 30 minutes each time. You can stop after your whole body has been washed and your hands and feet are warm.

3. The temperature of the bathing water should not be high. It should gradually rise from 35°C to 37°C to 40°C. After reaching 40°C, do not raise it any further to avoid sweating profusely from the heat, or even causing fainting or burns.

4. Be particular about the timing of bathing. Do not bathe on an empty stomach or after a full meal. Otherwise, problems such as hypoglycemia and indigestion may easily occur. It is best to wash your hands 1 to 2 hours after a meal.

5. Drink water before taking a bath. Drinking water can dilute the blood, expand blood volume, and reduce the incidence of acute ischemic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases caused by hot baths.

6. Pay attention to skin care during the whole bathing process. Do not use strong alkaline laundry soap to bathe, do not scratch your scalp and trunk, especially do not burn your feet and perineum; carefully check the skin all over the body, and report to the doctor promptly if any abnormalities are found.

Diabetic patients taking hot baths in cold weather may cause stress blood sugar fluctuations. After bathing, be sure to dry your body as soon as possible. Frail or elderly patients need to be monitored and accompanied by family members to strictly prevent various accidents.
