Chewing slowly will help you lose weight

Are you a "fat man" who likes to devour gourmet food? A new study has confirmed that compared with people who often "gorge themselves", people who "chew carefully" are 42% less likely to be obese. According to a recent study published in the British Medical Journal, if you want to lose weight, you need to eat slower, stop snacking after dinner, and not eat two hours before bed.

During the six-year study, health screenings included blood chemistry, urine and liver function tests in addition to BMI and waist circumference measurements. In addition, the participants' lifestyle has also become a key research area for researchers, including eating and sleeping habits, alcohol and tobacco use, eating speed, eating time, etc. One of the results showed that people who eat more slowly tend to be healthier and have healthier lifestyles than people who eat quickly or at a normal pace.

Although this observational study does not yet draw firm conclusions about cause and effect, previous studies have linked fast eating to impaired glucose tolerance and insulin resistance. In this regard, the researchers expressed the hope that in the future, intervention measures that slow down the eating speed can be used to effectively prevent obesity and reduce related health risks.
